I am researching the history of Crockett, Vallejo and Benicia. Can you tell me if Crockett had a newspaper and what years are available to review?
    Thanks…. Marilyn

“The Crockett American” weekly paper. In the mid to late 50′s was run by a man named Maynard Gunsel. Located on the east corner of Rolph and Winslow between Chester’s restaurant and Simontochi (sp) Furnature. The Phone Co. office was on the south east corner and the Crockett Club and Women’s Club were on the west side of Rolph.

Are you open on Mondays to the public? Your website seemed a little out of date, so I am double checking when the museum is open. We have friends in town the 1st week in February.
    Thanks

I am currently working on a report about the Contra Costa County Northern Waterfront and its history of manufacturing and am wondering if you have any photos of the Crockett/Port Costs waterfront and the manufacturing businesses that were or are located there. Thank you.

If you are still interested, visit the Museum on Saturdays, 10 am to 3 pm or on Wednesdays, same hours usually. Call 510-787-2178 first to make sure we are open.

  6. We have a book that just came out:
YOUNG DAVY CROCKETT/ THE BOY FROM TENNESSEE
Would you be interested in selling in the Museum gift shop.
    I can send a copy.
I would be happy to donate a few for your fundraiser to raffle off.

We have attempted to send you some historic postcards of Crockett that you may be interested in. However, the mail was returned as “No Mail Receptacle”. We sent it to 900 Loring Ave., Crockett. Is there another address we can send them to?
    Thank you.
